GWK Presents Balinese Music and Dance Arts Literacy Culture for the Next Generation

Literacy Culture at GWK: Film, Music, and Balinese Dance for Elementary School Students
Badung, March 28, 2024 – PT Alam Sutera Realty Tbk, together with its subsidiary, PT Garuda Adhimatra Indonesia (GWK Cultural Park), once again held a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, providing literacy culture education to a total of 500 students from three elementary schools. The activity began with a screening of the animated film "The Adventures of Little Garuda" at Garuda Sineloka, followed by a tour of the GWK Cultural Park area, and musical and dance performances. The three public elementary schools receiving the literacy culture education were SDN 1 Jimbaran, SDN 1 Pecatu, and SDN 6 Pecatu throughout March 2024. The participants were very enthusiastic and eager to participate in each activity, accompanied by the GWK team and several accompanying teachers.

Upon arriving at GWK, the participants and several accompanying teachers began their activities by watching the animated film "The Adventures of Little Garuda" at Garuda Sineloka. This animated film highlights Garuda's courage and loyalty to the god Vishnu, who bestowed upon him the water of immortality, Tirta Amerta. Short yet engaging, this animated film is the work of Indonesian children and won the 2015 Citra Award for "Best Animated Short Film." After touring Plaza Wisnu, the participants took a group photo at one of GWK's best spots, the Garuda Bridge, which was recently inaugurated in February 2024. Afterwards, they headed directly to Plaza Garuda. In addition to the film and the engaging experience of touring GWK, participants were also invited to learn about Balinese music, including playing the tambourine, gong, and angklung at the GWK Amphitheater. Moving on to Balinese dance, participants were invited to watch, interact, and learn firsthand the Sekar Jepun Dance, Kenyum Manis Dance, and Kebyar Duduk Dance with the GWK Dance Team.

"The Literacy Culture CSR program is being continuously implemented throughout Bali as an effort to support the government in promoting literacy culture from an early age. This activity targets elementary school students and has already been implemented with thousands of elementary school students in Bali in particular. Hopefully, with this program, the Balinese community will have a future generation that loves and understands local culture and is able to preserve Balinese culture in the future," concluded Rossie Andriani, Corporate Communications Division Head of Alam Sutera.

GWK Cultural Park consistently strives to preserve local culture by presenting a variety of Balinese arts and culture. Elementary school-aged children can enjoy film screenings at Sineloka, dance and music performances at the Amphitheater daily from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Central Indonesian Time (WITA) and at 5:00 PM Central Indonesian Time (with performances every hour), performances at Plaza Wisnu at 4:00 PM Central Indonesian Time (WITA), and at Lotus Pond at 6:00 PM Central Indonesian Time (WITA).
