MEDIA RELEASE
Ungasan, September 24, 2024 – Literacy for students is not just about reading, writing, or arithmetic. It also involves developing reasoning skills and contextual understanding. To further this literacy culture, GWK Cultural Park is once again holding a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program by providing literacy education to students from schools in South Kuta, Badung. This time, GWK Cultural Park had the opportunity to share moments with students from Baitul Amin Kindergarten/Rasah (Islamic Kindergarten) and SDN 6 Ungasan.
The event took place on September 19, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Central Indonesian Time (WITA), and was attended by approximately 177 students, accompanied by approximately 23 teachers. The event began with a play-and-learn activity, where students were invited to play the traditional angklung instrument in the amphitheater.
Guided by young artists from the GWK Art Studio, the participating students were encouraged to learn the notes, arrange the sounds, and weave the distinctive sounds of the angklung into popular songs. The children were very enthusiastic and enjoyed playing the angklung. During this session, a plaque was presented to the GWK Cultural Park management by representatives of the Baitul Amin Kindergarten/RA, represented by Andre Prawiradisastra, Marketing Communication and Event Division Head.
"We are committed to continuing this Cultural Literacy CSR program as a sustainable effort to support the development of reason and understanding of Balinese cultural values, especially for the nation's younger generation," said Andre Prawiradisastra in his brief remarks.
