GWK Cultural Park Successfully Presents a Different Concept, Celebrating the New Year 2026 with a Musical Laser Show

Bali, January 2, 2025 – Unlike previous years, the GWK Bali Countdown 2026 opened its series of events with a prayer service for communities affected by natural disasters. This year, with a different concept, the GWK Bali Countdown featured a Musical Laser Show at the turn of the year. This New Year's Eve moment was used as a moment for self-reflection, gratitude, and good hopes for a more developed Indonesia. The cancellation of the fireworks display this year was in line with an official circular from Balinese authorities issued on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, which strictly prohibited fireworks displays throughout Bali without exception. Nevertheless, the GWK Bali Countdown celebration went ahead with a series of exciting events for approximately 10,000 visitors.

"New Year's celebrations should not only be a time of joy, but also a time of gratitude. As 2025 draws to a close, we are focusing on economic recovery and acceleration, as well as fostering public optimism for the new year," said Ch. Rossie Andriani, Director of Operations at GWK Cultural Park.

Even without fireworks, GWK Bali Countdown 2026 still strives to provide a memorable New Year's Eve experience for visitors. The lively musical laser show at the turn of the year is accompanied by a modern contemporary dance performance by Manubada Art, one of Bali's influential art communities. The performance, themed "Sunya Sunyi Nemu Ayu," conveys a sense of hope and prayer through the dance and laser light for happiness and balance in the universe in the new era.

In addition to the musical laser show, there are various other captivating performances divided into two separate stages. The Main Stage will be the center of the event's excitement, with performances by renowned artists such as Whisnu Santika, Maliq & D'essentials, Lomba Ajaib, Navicula, Lolot, and Up Girls. Furthermore, on the Bazaar Stage, visitors can explore exciting experiences such as watching the Kecak Dance, Color Party, an Indonesian Short Film Program, and a Beauty Demo. In addition to the GWK Bali Countdown 2025 event series, which opened with a prayer session, QR codes were displayed at several locations as a sign of solidarity for visitors who were willing to lend a helping hand to disaster victims.

The tagline "Prepare Your Neon Gear" further enhanced the festival atmosphere, creating a modern, festive atmosphere full of color, energy, and style. The excitement was further enhanced by the presence of MyMelali X Mobile Market, which was open until 1:00 a.m. WITA (Central Indonesian Time), showcasing dozens of local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) offering a variety of culinary options and creative products, completing the year-end holiday experience at GWK.

With the involvement of over 1,000 people, including the Security Team, Production Team, Artist Team, and Volunteers, GWK Bali Countdown 2026 is a safe, comfortable, and unforgettable place to close out 2025.
