GWK presents the Legendary Balinese Dance: Kebyar Terompong
Dance is an integral part of Balinese daily life. Dance is more than just an art form; it's like the blood flowing through the Balinese heart. As a cultural tourism destination, GWK Cultural Park strives to preserve dance by introducing it to visitors. Various Balinese dances are performed daily on the GWK Cultural Park Amphitheater stage. One such dance is the Kebyar Terompong Dance.

The Kebyar Terompong dance is a legendary dance created by Balinese dance maestro I Ketut Marya, better known as I Mario. It was first performed publicly in 1925.
In its first performance, the Kebyar Terompong Dance captivated the audience, which was predominantly comprised of tourists and Dutch and European aristocrats. The dance's uniqueness lies in its combination of seated and semi-seated dance movements while playing the terompong , a rhythmic-melodic instrument in Balinese gamelan music.

This dance is a reinterpretation and development of the Kebyar Duduk dance . The Kebyar Terompong dance features a series of dynamic and rhythmic movements, combined with the magical melody of the terompong. The Kebyar Duduk dance, on the other hand, features a series of movements that tend to be calmer and sweeter.

The presence of this dance at GWK Cultural Park adds a unique appeal to visitors seeking to experience the beauty of traditional Balinese art. With a stunning performance, the dancers captivate the audience with energetic, magical, and captivating movements. Even the audience can join in, testing their agility and flexibility, competing with the Kebyar Terompong dancers.
