Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park invites tourists to celebrate this year's Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays with the Ogoh-Ogoh Festival. This flagship program has been specially designed to showcase Bali's rich culture and provide a memorable experience for all visitors during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
The Ogoh-Ogoh Festival is an annual event that attracts tourists. With the concept of a "people's party," this year marks the fifth year that GWK Cultural Park has hosted the festival. For tourists who missed the Ogoh-Ogoh Celebration during Nyepi, the Ogoh-Ogoh Festival provides additional entertainment. This activity provides a platform for collaboration and competition between Balinese arts communities, banjar (traditional community groups), and youth groups (sekaa taruna) in Bali. This event demonstrates GWK Cultural Park's commitment to supporting the preservation of Balinese arts and culture, particularly the Ogoh-Ogoh. The Ogoh-Ogoh Festival, which runs from April 2 to May 10, 2025, involves ogoh-ogoh artists from 13 Sekaa Teruna Teruni (STT) representing villages in South Kuta.
Complementing this folk festival concept, MyMelali GWK Market returns on April 1-5, 2025, at the Lotus Pond GWK Cultural Park. This vibrant market provides a platform for local entrepreneurs, artisans, and creative industries to showcase their products directly to visitors. The market features a variety of offerings in five categories: Arts & Crafts, Fashion, Food, and Community Activities.
There has been a significant increase in visitor numbers during the Nyepi and Eid holidays, as many families choose Bali as their vacation destination. "The Ogoh-Ogoh Festival offers a comprehensive cultural experience, where visitors can enjoy Balinese traditions combined with the creativity of today's young generation," said Ch. Rossie Andriani, Director of Operations at GWK Cultural Park.
GWK Cultural Park is committed to providing authentic cultural experiences that introduce Bali's noble values, while supporting the sustainability of local arts and empowering the local community.
Through initiatives such as the Baraong Show & Ogoh-Ogoh Festival, GWK Cultural Park is not just a tourist destination but also a medium for educating the public about Bali's sublime arts and culture.
